Translate What You Did Into What Civilian Employers Understand

Your experience has value. The problem is that civilian employers may not speak the language it was documented in.

Military-to-Civilian Skills Translation is a focused specialist service for military-connected candidates who need help explaining their experience clearly without underselling it, overstating it, or reducing years of responsibility to a generic job title.

From privates to generals, rank alone does not define civilian value. Military Loop looks at the work itself: responsibility, people led, equipment and resources managed, technical proficiency, decision-making, operational scope, measurable results, and the civilian objective in front of you.

Talent Focused

Talent Focused means we translate the experience that actually matters for your target. We do not simply replace military acronyms with civilian words or assume that one MOS, AFSC, rating, rank, or billet equals one civilian job.

The objective is to identify what you know, what you have done, how much responsibility you carried, what results you produced, and how to communicate that value in language a civilian recruiter, hiring manager, or employer can act on.

Who This Is For

  • Transitioning service members who know what they did but are unsure how to explain it outside the military
  • Veterans whose resumes, LinkedIn profiles, or interview answers still rely heavily on military terminology
  • Candidates considering civilian career fields and trying to understand where their experience transfers
  • Military-connected candidates who need stronger language for leadership, operations, logistics, technical work, training, planning, supervision, or mission execution
  • People who do not need a complete resume rebuild but do need expert translation of their military experience

Assigned to Military Loop Career Services

After the required intake and requested supporting information are received, your case is assigned within Military Loop Career Services to a qualified Career Coach, transition specialist, resume specialist, or approved career-service partner working within the Military Loop standard.

Military Loop remains responsible for the customer relationship, the service standard, and the final deliverable regardless of who performs the work within the approved Career Services process.

Before Your Session

Military Loop may request information that helps establish the context behind your experience, such as your current resume, target roles, duty descriptions, evaluations, award narratives, training records, certifications, or other relevant career materials.

Only provide documents specifically requested for the service, and remove sensitive information that is not necessary. Do not email an unredacted DD214, Social Security number, medical information, or other sensitive personal records.

How It Works

  1. Purchase Military-to-Civilian Skills Translation.
  2. Complete the Military Loop Career Intake. Tell us about your service background, current objective, and where you are having difficulty translating your experience.
  3. Submit the requested supporting information. We use it to understand the scope behind the titles, acronyms, duties, and assignments.
  4. Your case is assigned. A Military Loop Career Services professional reviews the relevant material before the live session.
  5. Meet for a private 45-minute live translation session. We break down what you actually did, the responsibility you carried, the results you produced, and how that experience can be communicated in civilian terms.
  6. Receive your Military-to-Civilian Skills Translation Brief. Our target is to deliver the written brief within 2 business days after the live session.
  7. Use the translation. Apply the language and positioning to your resume, LinkedIn profile, networking, interviews, and broader career planning.

Your Written Translation Brief

The written deliverable is designed to give you something usable after the conversation ends. It may include civilian-language translations of key responsibilities, transferable competencies, leadership and technical themes, accomplishment-framing examples, terminology recommendations, potential career families to explore, and prioritized next steps.

The brief is not a generic MOS lookup. It is based on the experience and objective presented through your intake and live session.

What This Service Does Not Include

  • A complete resume rewrite or new resume build
  • Unlimited job-specific resume customization
  • A full LinkedIn profile rewrite
  • Interview preparation or an ongoing coaching engagement unless purchased separately
  • A formal occupational equivalency certification
  • A guarantee that a specific military rank or specialty corresponds to a particular civilian title, salary, or career level
  • Job placement or an employment guarantee

The Military Loop Standard

Translation is not about making military experience sound civilian. It is about making the value understandable while preserving the truth, scale, and significance of the work.

We translate the experience in front of us, recommend only what the evidence supports, and keep the work centered on the candidate’s actual objective.

We Take Care of Our Own.
