Make Sure the Person in the Interview Matches the Value on the Resume
A strong resume can get you into the room. The interview is where you have to explain the experience behind it in language a civilian employer understands.
Interview Preparation + Mock Interview is a focused Military Loop Career Services engagement built around one target role or upcoming interview. Your assigned coach reviews the relevant information before the meeting, prepares a role-specific question set, conducts a live mock interview, and helps you correct the answers, stories, and habits that could cost you the opportunity.
From privates to generals, military experience does not automatically translate in an interview. The candidate must be able to explain leadership, responsibility, technical work, decision-making, conflict, failure, accomplishments, and results without relying on rank, acronyms, or military context the interviewer may not understand.
Talent Focused
Talent Focused means the session is built around your actual background and the opportunity in front of you. We do not run every candidate through the same generic list of interview questions.
Your military experience, civilian experience, target role, seniority level, interview format, known employer requirements, and areas of concern shape the preparation and mock interview.

After the required intake and requested materials are received, your session is assigned within Military Loop Career Services to a qualified Career Coach, interview specialist, recruiter-experienced coach, or approved Career Services partner working within the Military Loop standard.
Military Loop remains responsible for the customer relationship, service standard, and final deliverable regardless of who performs the work within the approved Career Services process.
Before Your Session
To make the live hour useful, we review the relevant information before you meet with the coach. You will normally be asked for your current resume, the target job description or role, known interview format or upcoming interview details, and any questions or situations you are especially concerned about.
Only provide documents specifically requested for the service, and remove sensitive personal information that is not necessary. Do not email an unredacted DD214, Social Security number, medical information, classified information, or other sensitive records.
How the 60-Minute Session Works
- Preparation and strategy. Your coach confirms the target, identifies likely pressure points, and establishes what the interviewer needs to understand about your value.
- Mock interview. You answer realistic questions tied to the role, including follow-up questions designed to test the clarity and strength of your examples.
- Debrief and correction. The coach identifies what worked, what did not, where military context is getting in the way, and how to improve the answers before the real interview.
How the Full Service Works
- Purchase Interview Preparation + Mock Interview.
- Complete the Military Loop Career Intake.
- Submit your resume and target role information. Include the job description and known interview details when available.
- Your case is assigned and prepared. The coach reviews the relevant materials before the meeting and develops a target-specific question set.
- Complete your private 60-minute live session. Preparation, mock interview, and debrief happen in one focused engagement.
- Receive your Interview After-Action Review. Our target is to deliver the written AAR within 1 business day after the live session.

Interview After-Action Review
The written AAR gives you something concrete to work from after the live session. It may include your strongest interview themes, weak or incomplete answers, military-to-civilian translation problems, STAR-story corrections, communication habits to address, priority questions to rehearse, and recommended next steps.
The AAR is designed for the target role established during intake. A substantially different role or interview may require a separate session.
